FOUR PAWS: Executive floor expands
FOUR PAWS fills new management positions for project and campaign work, fundraising, and communication
As Chief Programme Officer, Martin Hojsik (39) will be in charge of all project and campaign work of the international animal welfare organisation. This includes the further development and implementation of global campaign strategies, and the planning and quality assurance of projects. Born in Slovakia, Hojsik completed his MA in biology at Bratislava’s Comenius University, and has been active in animal welfare and NGOs since 1993. He was Global Campaign Manager with ActionAid, and headed several national and international campaigns for Greenpeace International.
Gerald Kaufmann (54) has been appointed as Chief Marketing Officer, to head up FOUR PAWS’ Communication and Fundraising departments, with responsibility for positioning the organisation in its various countries around the world. He will also contribute to FOUR PAWS’ further growth in matters of animal welfare. Kaufmann, from Styria in Austria, studied theatrical direction at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, and began his career in theatre companies. 1990 saw him shift the focus of his work, and he joined Greenpeace Austria as a fundraiser. Eleven successful years later, Kaufmann moved to Weleda Austria, where he spent ten years as Executive Director.
Martin Hojsik and Gerald Kaufmann will be based at FOUR PAWS HQ in Vienna, while also acting as Board members of FOUR PAWS International.
Heli Dungler, founder and president of FOUR PAWS: “The additional support we’ll get from Martin Hojsik and Gerald Kaufmann will in particular allow us to further improve our strategic planning, so that we can implement even more long-term, sustainable animal welfare projects and campaigns at an international level over the next few years.”
